Counselling

Counselling at Next Door offers a calm, supportive space to slow down, åtalk things through, and make sense of what you're experiencing. We work alongside you with compassion and care, helping you find clarity, direction, and practical ways forward at your pace, and in your own time.
A Medicare Rebate of approximately $87 is available for those with a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP.
Private Health Insurance applicable.
Chronic Health Consultation
50 mins · $220
Chronic Health consultations provide a calm, supportive starting point for understanding concerns about your overall wellbeing, memory or thinking. We take time to listen, explore what's been happening and offer clear guidance and practical support for both individuals and families. This first step can help bring reassurance and direction during an uncertain time.
No referral required.
Private Health Insurance may be applicable.
Sessions can also be funded through Commonwealth Home Support Packages.
Dementia Counselling
50 mins · $220
A dementia diagnosis can change how life feels, not only for the person receiving the diagnosis but also for partners, families and carers too. Dementia counselling creates space to make sense of these experiences, gently normalising how you feel and helping you find a way forward. Dementia counselling is for everyone — the person living with dementia, carers and families.
Medicare Rebates applicable with a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.

Family Therapy
$180 Per Person
Family therapy at NDC supports families to navigate uncertainty, difference and change. We help you move forward together with greater understanding, connection and confidence. Even when it feels impossible.
Includes a 20min pre-phone call with each person attending the session.
Preparation time, using evidence-based theories to evaluate themes, challenges and strengths within the family.
A 60min Family Therapy session.

Clinical Supervision
1 hr · $180 + GST
Reflective Strengths-Based Supervision with Hannah. With 17 years of experience as a Social Worker in Australia and overseas, I offer flexible, supportive and personalised supervision. Using strengths-based, trauma-informed, narrative and collaborative approaches, I provide a safe space to reflect, grow and enhance your practice.
Registered TAC and WorkCover provider.

Several funding pathways may help make support more affordable. Here's what's available.
Medicare
Under the Medicare Better Access Initiative, seeing an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker becomes more accessible and affordable. To receive this rebate you need to be referred by a GP. The Medicare rebate from July 2025 is approximately $87.25 of the session fee. This may vary depending on your Medicare threshold. Please visit the Medicare website for more details
Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA)
Speak to me about funding via DVA for Gold and White Card holders.
Transport Accident Commission (TAC)
I am registered to provide treatments and services under the TAC. If this is applicable to you, please give me a call for further information.
WorkSafe Victoria
I am a registered Work-Cover provider. If this applies, please forward a referral from your GP and Work-Cover will provide 10 sessions. Feel free to give me a call for further information.
Private Health Insurance
You may be eligible for a rebate through your Private Health Fund. Speak directly to your fund regarding your eligibility for services with an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW). Insurance companies known for covering AMHSW services include:

Home visits
Home visits and offsite sessions run for 50 mins and are $250. Travel fees are $1 per km, calculated using the most direct route from Mornington 3931. A Medicare rebate of approximately $115 is available, and Private Health rebates are applicable.
